1997 Daewoo Dsl 801
We have a 1997 Daweoo DSL801 skid steer loader with around 1800 hours on it. Over the past year or so, the hydraulic warning light would come on randomly. Today, under very light usage, the hydraulic system emptied itself by blowing out the filter gasket and completely covering the engine compartment with oil.
The filter was changed last fall (NAPA 1202), but the intermittent light issue was present before the filter change.
Any ideas? Is there some type of relief valve that could be sticking?

Are these spin-on type filters or cartridge type? Either way I would suspect some down stream restriction is causing excessive back pressure which would cause the seals to fail. Does the outlet of this filter feed into an oil cooler?

It is a spin-on filter with a tapered seal that fits the tapered seat on the housing perfectly.
I am not positive, but I believe that the outlet on the housing branches off and goes back to the cooler and forward to some type of junction block.
