D-rings for trailer stake pockets

Has any one used any of these stake pocket D-rings that Johnson Trailers in Wi sells . They look handy to use with J-hook straps. Price doesn't too bad at 25.00 bucks!!!!!

Yep, handy, but it would cost less to buy new ratchet straps with flat hooks. :thumbsup:

It's cheaper to just buy the D rings and weld them into the trailer, assuming you have a welder and know how to use it.

And it's even cheaper to slightly bend the J hooks so they will fit into the stake pockets in the first place. That's what I've done with all my 27' 2" ratchet straps as did my brother-in-law with his ratchet straps.

I cant think of any reason to use these and not just loop your strap and or chain through the stake pocket.

for some reason i cant think of you HAVE To have straps get some of these instead

and if tieing down cars why not use these instead (with chain)
