Hi everyone.

Tractor newbie here and have been browsing forums and researching what tractor might work best for me and my property for the last year or so. 5 acres only. with 2 acres of field , 2 acres of brush, 1 acre around the house(backyard) . alot of flat area but some hills to upper and lower area. looking to reclaim the brush area, add a workshop, add a decent length of driveway/ change the current one, move some mulch and dirt on regular bases, move some stuff on pallets, cut some.of the field grass (not worried about clean cut) till some of the field, dig a bunch of fence posts, clear snow in winter and anything else that comes up.

I originally was looking subcompact with little backhoe but have shifted to a compact and skipping the mini backhoe. have a decent amount of trenching and some power / water lines to run, but my grandfather 2km away has a Kubota B26 with hoe, that could come over for some of that/ always renting mini excavator is an option. I feel like bigger tractor that comes out cheaper than a little subcompact with a backhoe will serve me better / allow more room for future unknown uses, and better ground clearance for the rougher fields and brush clearing.

Right in my smaller town I have a kioti dealer 15 min away. and a Kubota dealer 10 min away. John deer is 45 min away in another town and I have pretty much written them off. the kioti dealer is much smaller but has been around for 15 years, selling kioti for 9 apparently, and are a "five paw dealer" or whatever rating kioti gives. the service area seems decent but small . the Kubota dealer is pretty big and has much more inventory and big service area, my grandfather has dealt with them and they seem decent.

I am leaning towards the kioti ck2510 with just the quick attach FEL however the dealer sold the last one he had a couple weeks ago and will be getting more potentially end of May. He does however have the new cx2510 which there is limited info on and is trying to send me that direction for small amount more in price. it appears to be the exact same with small changes like arm rests and dual pedals.

My main question is should I be worried about the brand new model? like the first generation of a car ? I prefer the pedal style on the new model but would the older proven model be a safer bet ? am I over thinking this ?

I am also still in the back of my mind have kubota there. But it seems like kioti out performs both b series models by a decent amount for much cheaper.

Initial quotes (canada) with just FEL
Cx2510 : 22500$
Kubota B2301: 24400$
B2601: 26700$

Both offering 0% for 84 months.

As I said, I'm leaning towards the kioti, but do have some hesitations over reliability/ brand over kubota but paying more for less doesn't seem ideal.

Anyways Any input is appreciated, and sorry for this long message.

Thanks in advance !

The Kioti CX2510 is a new line of fully updated compact tractors. It closely follows the proven CK2510 model, but all systems look upgraded in overall performance. It should be extremely reliable for many years with only standard maintenance. The Kubota B2301 is a direct competitor to the CX2510. I compared some specs and saw the Hydraulic pump on the Kioti was 11.7 Gal/min, compared to 8.3 Gal/min on the Kubota. The slightly higher performance on the Kioti pump gives the loader higher lifting capacity at the pins, which is important if your moving rocks or logs with the bucket, or equipment on pallets.

Personally, both are great reliable tractors, and don't think you can go wrong making either choice. Dealer service is important, but honestly, for tractors that are so reliable, you may never need dealer repairs. Good luck on your choice.

I've had a JD, Kubota and currently have a Kioti - the JD and Kubota were both nice units - when I decided to trade I once again looked at all of them, to me the Kioti offered me more in performance, comfort and value than the others so I went with it - for me it was the right decision...... I would not worry about the upgraded changes, they have been building them for a long time.

WRONG

Circle Area = pi * radiusイ ... So a 3" cylinder has a radius of 1.5" ... 3.14 * (1.5" * 1.5") ... 7.065" is the area of a 3" cylinder
keeping it simple ... 1000psi * 7.065 = 7,000 pounds of pressure, regardless of gal/minute. Higher GPM = faster response or cycle time

I know canada is different. But i go tmy B2650 for the same price as you have for the 2601 and mine had the cab and FEL. I did the same exact reserach as you and was down to the Ck2510 and B2650. I wanted a Cab though and the B2650 had factory AC. Once the cab was added to both the 2510 and the B2650 cost difference was 2k, so for 2k more i got the AC and few other tid bits the 2510 didnt have.

Thanks for the replies.

The B2650 while appealing is another 2000 on top of b2601 and after looking at the ck2610 and b2650 both of them are probably better bang for your buck but just felt/ looked a little big for my needs starting at the tires. Maybe that will change.

Good to hear some positive views of the kioti. I realize they look pretty much exactly the same / likely most of the same components with different letters on the side and pedals.

I was told that it is the same engine but a different transmission (still only 2 speed).
Are there often transmission problems on new model of tractor ?

With regards to the hydraulics. the kioti lists higher lift capacity compared to the b2601 and b230. are you saying thats not true ?

thanks again for the feedback and any. info / opinions are greatly appreciated

Yeah the difference between a 2601 and 2650 here was like 1000. very similar tractor though. The 2650 for the money is definitely worth purchasing over the 2601 though

I am following this, as I am in Canada making the same decision here. So please, report back on what you end up getting, and for bonus marks DM me the deal you get :)! What province are you in? I am in SK, but we just bought land in Maritimes near my wife's family, and are moving there at the end of June. I am tempted to pop over to AB and pick it up, and then haul it out there when we move. If I end up paying $30k with all the implements, I'd save $3k in taxes by doing that... though I'd spend a $1000 getting it out there, and have to buy a trailer too...

Anyway, it is good to know the pricing others here are getting.

I know the extra weight is generally good, but I am a little worried about how much more of an impact the Kioti will have on my lawn with the extra 600lbs.

Let me know what you got.

This statement is absolutely wrong.

A higher volume output of a hydraulic system doesn't give more power in terms of lifting more weight. A higher volume speeds up the movements.
If you want to lift more weight, you have to increase the pressure or put bigger cylinders in your attachment, which will slow down the speed again.

You wanna move to the meritimes?

I'm on my way back to Winnipeg from New Brunswick. I came along a dealer who sells mutiple brands. TYM, Zetor and LS, as far as I could see. He seems to have strong sales numbers over there. I've never seen that many tractors of those brands along the road.
Don't ask me where it was or what the name of the dealer was. But it was on the east coast along Hwy 11, north of Moncton. Just in case that's the area you wanna move. He wasn't the only blonde in town. A Deere dealer was right down the road. But nothing green to see.
