Cutting height on 1500 series

Hi guys, Have a small problem with my CC SLT 1554. Picked it up yestrday, read the manual and set the cutting height. The manual says to lower the deck to the desired cutting height then put the anti scalping wheels 1/2 inch above ground. What if my desired level means i have to lower the deck fully and my wheels are 1/2 inch above my deck. Does it matter that the front roller has all the weght and the deck sides will skid on the grass or is there some way of lowering the position of the blades ie spacing them inside the deck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Troy
