Upstate South Carolina.....I have lots of sweetgum samplings 3-6" 's I would like to cut down. But its now winter and the saps down so my usual treatment of brush killer straight on the stump won't kill the stump/root.
What is the best to do besides ripping them out. Many are just under the edge of the canopy of large oaks on the edge of fescue field. I do not want to disturb the oaks.
Thought about taking cordless drill and drilling a hole then pouring something in the stump. What would be good? Again I don't want to hurt the oaks.
Are stump rot products too strong and will seep into ground and hurt the oaks? There might be 10-15 larger samplings I cut down under one side of the oak.
