Absolutely cut them separately. You won't have reliable control over the felling if you cut them together except in some very limited scenarios (which you often have to tailor the cut to achieve, not the other way around).
For trees like that (I have cut some with up to four stems) I cut the stems one at a time, and then at the end cut the common stump.
