Working with a 170 mower/tractor. The seat was just replaced and ever since the blade cut off has been very unpredictable, engaging and disengaginh the blade clutch.
Steps taken-
-Removed pressure switch from seat, checked for damage and held down manually while out. It worked as expected, for a short time. After a minute or so the blades disengaged so I removed my finger from the pressure switch. 5 seconds or so later, they engagged WITHOUT the safety switch compressed (I was off the mowwer completely.
- I disconnected/removed the pressure switch, turned the blade switch to on (again while off the mower) and sure enough the clutch kicked in the cutters spun away with no switch or operator in the seat. Then it would cycle at random time intervals; blades on, off, start to shut down, continue running, rinse & repeat.
My guese is there are at least another couple of potential points of failure between the seat switch and the clutch.......any suggestions?
