Custom Haying Rates

Just wondering what everbody is raising there custom rates for the 2013 season

I'm going to charge $24 to cut,rake & bale for a 4X5-1/2 ft bale. I also have a 2 bale per acre minimum charge. For sq bales I charge $2 for same service. All bales are owners responsibility to move.

On round bales we are at $40 a ton or $40 dollars a acre which is ever greater
these are 5x6 bales up here but the hay rate stays constant even with our big square balers
That is with the bales gathered to the edge of the field

last year we payed $25 to get our hay cut raked an baled in 4 by 6 bales.then year we bought a baler because the balong cost is getting to high.going to high a guy to cut an rake this year.if we bale hay we will charge $17 just to bale.

We charge $20.00 per acre to cut,rake & tedder if needed. $10.00 to roll a 4x5ft. bale with net wrap.This is in middle Tn.

I look at it like this
the swathing is easily worth $15 per acre
raking is up to the guy harvesting the hay which is up here we twin rake every thing up to 4 ton hay
the round bales we get $15 to $17 a bale depending on how many wraps the customer wants on his bales
with the gathering of the bales it comes up to an easy $40 a ton
we are talking acerage of 150 acres up to 1000 irrigated acres

man yall rates are real cheap.ive got a buddy that charges $7 a bale to cut $5 a bale to rake $13 a bale to bale $2 a bale to ted.i think if we was going to get back into custom baling we would chage $32 a bale to cut rake an bale with a 5 by 6 baler.

I would go broke charging that. I get $20 per 4x5 round bale. That's cutting, raking and baling. Teddering if needed. Some complain about that.

your price isnt bad.not by a longshot.my cows was eating right at 14 4 by 6 bales a wk during the winter.that would be almost 20 4 by 5 bales a wk.

That is where we are at with that?
You figure our bales weigh right at 1700 to 1800 pounds

with 5 by 6 bales i figure we will beed 7 to 10 bales a wk insted of 12 or 14 bales.
