I had a 20' gooseneck trailer built last fall and I'm just getting around to posting pictures. The builder did a great job and incorporated a lot of custom features.

The trailer is an 18' + 2' with a 2" oak floor and tandem 7,000# axels. The dovetail is made out of diamond plate steel with traction bars. There are two 5' heavy-duty spring assisted mesh gates on the back of the trailer. The fenderwells, toolbox, battery box, and light enclosures are all made out of diamond plate steel. There are white lights built into the fenders and on top of the trailer which are activated by a toggle switch. All lights are rubber mounted and fully enclosed. The rear-facing red lights are L.E.D. There are fork carriers on each side of the trailer and six weld on D-Rings. I also had a B&W Turnoverball Hitch mounted on my truck.

GREAT idea on the lights inside the fenders! I might have to do something similar.

Here's a pic of my wife's Grand Cherokee loaded on the trailer. It's a little blurry.

There are two box openeings cut through each side of the trailer and a strap welded across the support beams to "catch the end of the forks. Corrosion isn't a problem.

I attached a picture that shows the fork openings. The picture was taken during the construction phase. Would anyone like to see more pictures from start to finish?

Your F-250 looks a lot like mine, except mine is a 1999.

May I ask what your trailer cost. PM me if you don't want to reply in the open forum with cost figures.

Thanks,

The fender lights work great! They are rubber mounted and completely enclosed to keep road grime and water out. Here are a couple of pictures during construction.

Today I saw Dodge dually pulling a gooseneck loaded with fiberglass church steeples. That gooseneck had a high deck over the hitch portion of the trailer to haul smaller components. This seemed like a great idea for the purpose this trailer was being used for.

I think if I do get around to getting a trailer it will be a gooseneck, and I'll incorporate some of the ideas in this thread and one Redbug posted a while back on his custom trailer.

Lots of good ideas in both threads.

What idea did Redbug incorporate on his gooseneck? I must have missed that thread...I'll try searching for it.

Redbug's is a bumper pull; but it's part dump trailer too. He made removable sides for it that allow the rear 1/3 - 1/2 from what I could see to be used as a dump trailer. Otherwise it's an equipment hauler. Pretty slick setup.

I did an archive search and found Redbug's thread with pictures of his trailer. You're right - it's a slick trailer!
