Cushman trackster

Does anyone have a Cushman trackster and if so do you have any problems that you should look for when buying one. They look like a fun machine to have. I know they were only made in the early seventies and they are hard to find.

hello i've got a couple tracksters both with cabs, they are a neat machine mine still have the omc opposed twin cyl 2 stroke, they are extremely loud, they did have problems with the motorola ignition module other than that there pretty dependable. there was a company out around salina ks that bought the tooling and was making a newer version. most people swap the original engine for a honda or similar hope this helps.

I had one too, biggest problem I had is, the aluminum bogie wheels coming apart...

To be honest, I was glad to see it go...

those little omc engines if tuned right are near bullett proof,
which do you have???? 18hp has sparkplugs on the bottom and 22 hp has spark plugs on top
if it has electric ignition its not stock ... should have points (what do you think of that two coil mess?)
anywho the number one cause of a wimp omc after sitting is a dry dist/gov.

the timing advance weights stick ... few drops of sae30 down the rotor shaft and 10 mins idleing is an easy fix and should be done anytime the engine sits more than 3 months
