I have had a few requests for pictures of my Curtis cab and heater on my BX 2200. Rather than post a bunch of pictures here and take up space I felt it would be easier to put them up on a web site.

Here is the link: Curtis cab pictures

I have a cable modem so I don't know how fast this page will be on dial up but I tried to keep the pictures under 100 K.

Any problems viewing this please let me know.

That sure is a sweet looking unit.... I am very envious because I have a BX-22 and there is no cab available for it. I had even thought about removing the backhoe and getting a cab just for winter use. However, after speaking to a dealer, it seems that there is a lot of work to install it. He said that removal in the spring wouldn't be practical. Did you mount this your self?

That is a profesional looking install job, also very good pics. I wanted a cab for my 3830 that I could remove easily in the spring but no one offered one, so I build one. It is not heated but it will keep the snow off me from the blower. If it works out the way that I think it will I will do more work on it this summer and have it heated next winter. Now that my neighbors know that I have it I am get more areas to remove snow from.

Is that the 15,000 BTU heater from Curtis ?
How well does it work ?
Fan ? Speeds ?

I'm waiting for delivery of my new Kubota L3130 with a Curtis cab & heater...

Nice looking work, they do make snow removal a breeze so to speak. Junkman, there is no reason that you and a freind can't remove one in less than an hour or reinstall in about the same time after initial installation.

Bob - I really appreciate your posting the pixs. Attactive, clean and very professional looking cab setup!

I take it the valve under the heater is used to control the water flow (off in summer), or do you use it to regulate the temperature in winter? Or is changing fan speed all that's needed?

Thanks,

I have a Curtis roof that I turned into a canopy. I was thinking about turning it into a full blown cab for the winter but still in the planning stages. Do you have any problems with fogging up the inside when you are using it? Seems to me that that would be a huge issue, either in the front window or the sides/rear. I was thinking about clear acrylic or plexiglass panels for the sides and doors....

This is what I was told as well. Actually, the dealer told me that his team takes a full day to install one. Who knows if this is true, but I didn't install it and never considered removing it for the summer.

It is the Curtis heater, but lucky you! They have modified it this year and added a cowling which has directable vents for windshield, floor and hands. It is a two speed fan and it works really well. You will love it!

Yes, the valve is for shutting off the water in the summer. I don't actually shut it off because I'm just not sure about interrupting the coolant flow in that fashion. I'm concerned about sediment build up in the stagnent line or possibly reduced circulation of the entire coolant system. I'm probably just being paranoid but I'd rather be safe. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
