Cummins small cam oil filter Napa gold 1970 and what oil

I got a old Cummins small cam it leaks some oil but going to change the filter and oil.

Unsure what filter to use the one on it is a Napa gold 1970. What to know what other filter I can use that would be better ?

Also what oil to use as I know the small cam Cummins had cam issues and not sure if the new oils will make that worst or better ?

You talking an old 855???

We run a lot of them back in the day, never a cam issue.

We ran DA 30 or Rotella t 15-40

Fleetguard and Wix filters were the filters I always used on my 855 and 903.

Used Chevron Delo 30w till 1980, then switched to Shell Rotella 5w40.

I don’t remember small cam 855’s having cam problems. I believe the big cams did when they first came out.
