Yanmar
I just found this website that describes a Cubcadet joint venture with Yanmar
The model is an EX3200 due to be available in August 2007. It looks like a Challenger tractor and could be another acquisition of AGCO. Anyone have more information about this?

Looks just my JD790! I guess it is a Yanmar.

Hey Whiskey...great minds and all that. I posted the same pics a earlier this a.m. on another site I frequent.

Hi Mech (stranger).

Nice looking new rig you've got there!
Were you able to fix your Yanmar? Curious as to how your predicament was resolved.

Hi Mark,

I will certainly post as soon as I get the problem with the 1610D resolved. I'm lead to believe that will be in the next week. Stay tuned.

Thanks,

That is good information. I've heard the Yanmar engine described as "bullet proof" The size fits right into the middle of the compact tractor line up. I am going to follow this discussion board a litttle more and see if this is the direction I want to head. I plan on getting a tractor this fall for 4 acre plot of land that needs lots of work.

Nice tractors just light for the horsepower. I would say size and weight wise, a YM2010D can move more dirt. Yanmar is trying to build tractors that are feature driven and focused more on tilling in tighter areas. I would guess the cub is going to be "featured down" or a "base model" Yanmar like the JD model Yanmar’s already are.

Add to that the history of virtually every tractor built FOR someone else. The someone else eventually ends up not supporting the tractor once that contract ends. Look at all the tractors built for MF and Agco in the late 80s, maybe even early 90s. Also for Case. Good units from Japanese makers, but still a 2nd tier tractor in that it is made FOR someone, rather than being marketed by the manufacturer. Right now we have a gazillion times more aftermarket parts for grey Yanmars than can be found for the Japanese made MFs, Agcos, etc. My concern is that ten years from now the Yanmar made Cub will be the same way.

Seriously, does anyone believe cub will have good parts support a decade from now for the Mitsubishi made Cub they recently stopped marketing? I don't.

Wayne I agree completely; besides, in the tractor market Cub is a dead player (which is why Yanmar could easily walk through the front door). Yanmar is like most Japanese tractor companies though; they separate themselves from litigation by vending through US manufacturers. Then when the contract ends they are excluded from direct sale into the US by long term non compete clauses which is where Yanmar is at right now.

I would say by far the Japanese built Fords are the worst for support.
