Gentlemen i have found some info on this issue and many members have reported similar issues.
there are three wires going to both temp gauge and fuel level gauge they are RED, Black, and Yellow.
the wires represent the following
Red= 12 volt power
Black = constant ground
Yellow represents variable ground or thru the sender signal.
problem is these gauges are not available independently and come on a printed circuit board panel with both gauges and the tach.
there is a lot of problems with the printed circuit board with microscopic cracks that will fles on bumps or vibrations causing connection and disconnection.
the resolution is a new instrument panel board with the gauges and tach.
Cost is approx $250.00 easy to replace but you will be starting out with a new hour meter as well that starts from zero hours.
I developed this info from a Yanmar america tech engineer.
seems to be a common issue and the stock 45 of the instrument panels.
Hope this helps.
