I know this is for tractors but not sure where to post. A fellow has a Cub Cadet tracked self propelled snow blower for sale. I think it said 286t. It starts and runs but barely. The owner thought the gas was old and clogged the carb. Wants $100. Anyone have any ideas, comments, thoughts on the CC tracked snow blower and good/bad about the same. Ways to clean up the carb short of a rebuild? Thanks

There are no magic parts inside a carb.

Pull it, clean it, inspect for damaging corrosion. Reassemble, run it!

Start by dropping the float bowl and running fresh gas through! I've found water in some seasonal equipment carbs. That makes the engines run poorly.

I'd offer him $50. It's no good to anyone right now!
I got a free one this spring from a guy who left it sit outside for three years. Was rusty like the ole' Tin man. Lubed up and away it went! Oh and clean the carb of course lol.

Do the track drives work? I believe some of the Cub Cadets had some form of individual track drive for steering and if these are bad maybe more expensive to fix than carb issues?
