Cub Cadet LTX1040
I am new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a Cub Cadet LTX1040 and was greasing one of the fittings this morning. Unfortunately, the grease gun got stuck into the fitting and I ended up pulling the fitting out of its hole. It took so much effort to remove the fitting from the grease gun that I ended up stripping the fitting. I went to a supply store and purchased new fittings which almost look the same as the old one. Unfortunately, the new fitting will not thread and when I place it in the hole, it pops out. Should I be buying a certain grease fitting? The one I purchased is 3/16" manufactured by SpeeCo. Thanks so much for your help. Feel free to email me at NHLNied27@aol.com

I'm not sure what type of fittings were used on the 1040 but there are threaded fittings and also press-in fittings which have ridges on them but no actual threads. They just tap in.
