Cub Cadet Difference in placement of Air Cleaner

As I posted already in another post. I looked at Cub Cadet yesterday at Home Depot and an independent dealer.
I saw the same tractor LT 1045 with the courage engine. The one at Home Depot had the air filter on top with a little door you opened to access it.
The one at the Dealer with the Air Filter on the side no door.
When I inquired at the dealer they said HD must have had last years model. I went back to HD to look again to make sure it had the 20 hp courage engine and it did. I asked the HD people about it and he said theirs was brand new just came in this week. Why the difference? I liked the placement of the HD one as I thought is less likely to attract dirt and dust.

the 1045's have two different engines in them right now the filter on top is the v-twin courage and the one on the side is the courage single both are 20hp. i think it has to do with a shortage of the singles right now so they substituted the twin's
