Hi everyone
I'm new here and it looks like some of you guys really know your stuff!

I've been looking for a utility tractor for a while. I came across a used 7360 Cub Cadet, 4x4, woods loader, cab and 62 hours on it. Great looking machine! It's on the high end of what I would like to spend. I should be able to get it for 10K. I've checked ebay and there was only ever one listing for it. What is the going rate for a tractor like this? Have they been holding their resale value?

I also would like to know who makes the engine, would that be Koiti? Have there been any issues with these engines?

Sorry about all the questions, I guess I'm just a little leary about investing in something yellow. I'll have to tell ya that none of my farm friends really have any knowledge about them.

Any input would be appriciated! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome to TBN! You'll find some good folks here that will be very helpful.

I own a CC 7360. It was made by Mitsubishi and has their 4-cylinder diesel. It is a strong tractor and motor. I bought mine slightly used with 92 hours. I have never had it to a dealer. I do the regular maintenance and I've had very little problems with it. And I work it pretty hard.

You didn't say what the purchase price was, but I would have no hesitation to buy another if the price were not out of line.

Thanks for the reply! It's good to hear your satisfied with your 7360 and there hasn't been any issues. I was wondering if it was a Mitsubishi diesel.

The guy has been trying to sell it for a while. It hasn't moved in about a year. I believe I can purchase it for $10K.

One think I forgot to mention is the model is actually a 7360 SS. I guess that means shuttle shift.

Yes, the diesel is a Mitsubishi diesel. I don't think Cub ever had a hydro-drive version of the 7360, so they are all shuttle shift. I just never use the SS at the end, figuring it is a given.

If I did have one complaint it would be the cost of parts. Apparently Mitsubishi sells parts to Cub at a very profitable price, which is just passed on to us. An example is the hydraulic filter which costs us about $86. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif But, it's a great tractor.

Everything that was said is true, except last hydr filters I bought @ 115.00. The air filters @ 78.00. LOL The Mits/Cubs are tuff working tractors. In todays market place they would be in the "Fred Flintstone" tech area. A lot has changed since these were produced. If you are working the tractor, really working you will find this is a bad -ss tractor. I also own a 7265, which is a smaller hydro version with 26 hp, and these two are not in the same league. Weight/hp. That is the key and the 7360ss is a super tractor. Everyone talks about resale, resale is another word for I have a big toy that I like to play with and never get dirty and I am going to trade in 3 years and get the newer frills. Frills are nice but check the spec's and you will find the old 7360ss is a good working tractor. I borrowed one when my Kubota was down and now I own 2 Cubs. I can't say enough good about the tractor. Except the price of filters!

Thanks for the replies. It looks like a good machine, just wanted to get some input from others. Looks like I'll be heading back for another talk with the guy.

Donaldson carries that air filter for around $42.00.

10K is a great deal with the loader, cab and 62 hours on it. I paid $9300 for my 1995 7275 2 years ago with 2200hours on it. It came with a heated cab, loader, 6 foot Woods MMM, 4 new tires and a grader blade. Cubs are hard to find for cheap money around where I live. I drove 200 miles to get mine in Vermont.

Please give me a part # to the air filter that is 42.00. Both the local Cub dealer and NAPA dealer have searched with no results. I have looked on the net for hours and found no listing for 7360ss or 7265 tractor. Everybody says it is out there but no one has ever given me a part #. I know Mits. is not in the filter business and they buy them from someone. I hope you are the man that can give me the number. Thank you for your input

While Mitsubishi may not be in the filter business, they have never released the specs for their filters. So there are no filters cross-referenced to the filter manufacturers. Some on TBN have elected to use other filters based on their physical size. But I'm not going to risk my tractor without know that the filter specs and bypass pressure numbers are the same.

I do have the air filter part number at home, I will post it tonight. I would also say that if your local dealer can't find the 7360 part numbers, I would find another dealer. Some cub dealers work mostly with the lawn tractors and aren't much help with the 7000 and 8000 CUTs.

Chubby,

If you don't have manuals partstree.com has some pretty good info. Diagrams, and some parts listed. They do show the 7360 for some filters but you won't like the prices you see!

Chubby, Donaldson's part number is P535362. A Kubota filter will also fit your machine. But finding a Kubota dealer will ing to open up a bunch of air filter boxes is like asking him to work. I had a kubota filter in my 7275. I replaced it with a Cub filter like an idiot. Both filters are identical. I then crossed the Kubota filter over to a Donaldson's. I now have two spare air filters for my Cub for the price of one Cub filter. Mitsubishi kiss my ---. I am really tired of being taken by these dirtbags with the high prices. I replaced my cracked grille last year. It is a small piece of cheap plastic. $150.00 will get you a new one, what a deal. I asked the Cub dealer if I got a kiss with it.

Let me defend Mitsu a bit. I've owned a number of Mitsu vehicles over the years that were badged as Chrysler products. Practically bulletproof but you do need a part now and then. The price for these parts from Chrysler was astronomical! Then one day while I was waiting I heard the Chrysler parts guy calling the Mitsu dealer for my part. I asked him about it and was told my car had all Mitsu parts! So I started going to the Mitsu dealer and the parts were at time 60% less. Not always that much but always considerably cheaper. I suspect in the case of the tractors the same is true....I can get my tractor engine oil filter from the Mitsu dealer and it is about 30-40% cheaper than the CC dealer... I think MTD is the price problem. Not Mitsu......?

I beg to differ. Local dealer says 10-15 dollars profit over his cost for a air filter. He is a good honest guy and I believe him. "Cub Tech" comes to this fourm at a later date and says just about the same thing. That leads me to believe Mits is slamming Cub. I was thinking about swapping for the new 45 hp Cub/Kioti, asked price of Cub/Kioti air filter $28.00 from same dealer. What should one think other then Mits is slamming Cub. 28.00 vs 80.00.

We all agree the prices are crazy. But, when I called and asked the Cub dealer about air filter for a 8454, which is built by Kioti but has Cub paint and decals, why was the filter price reasonable? MTD bought the 8454 from Kioti just like they bought the 7360 from Mits. If what your saying is true, then the 8454 filters should also be crazy priced. I'm not saying MTD is a saint but in this case Mits is the bad guy. As for Cub Tech, he sounds like a straight shooter. He has been helpful to answer questions put on this forum. He has not always given the answer that was wanted but seems to give the honest answer. Sometimes the honest answer is not the one that makes us happy. But I would rather hear the truth instead of something close to the truth to make me feel good.

I won't start an argument here on Cud parts prices. But I will tell you that someone is doing some serious price gouging on them. You compare prices on parts from other companies and there is a big difference. The problem lies with Mitsu making the part, selling it to MTD, who then sells it to its dealers, who then marks it up to sell it to us. We then have manufacturer price, Company brand price and dealer price. Now, if Cub is a subsidiary of MTD. There may also be another price increase from MTD going to Cub. The next time you feel like you have been raped on a Cub part, you now know why. If you can buy the part direct from Mitsu or any other source do so. And if someone out there knows how to go about doing this, please list phone numbers or company names so the rest of us can do so also. I've already given you an out on air filters for the bigger Cub tractors. If I find any more deals I will list them.

JimR. I've got the 7234 and I think I just crossed my air filter number to a Kubota number via Donaldson and Wix Filter numbers. I may not get to the Kubota dealer until next week but he lists the air filter for $22.51. I called the closest and only Cub dealer for quite a ways and he wants $88.00 for the Cub part number. I'll let you know, it may be to good to be true!
