cub cadet 6284 engine

Can anyone confirm what engine is in the 6284.

I believe it is a perkins 403d-11

Does anyone have a service manual for it?

I've attached a pdf of that engine at 3400 rpm peaks at 21KW, which is about 28hp.

I have looked around on the internet and found a nice pdf file that gives
a ton of specs on this engines and its other familiy members, its about a 15 mb file.

I don't have any confirming information for you regarding this. I am not aware that Cub made a manual for this engine available. I do know that you need to be careful of the specs in the tractor owners manual. For example, if you follow the manual recommendation for oil capacity you will end up overfilling the crankcase (according to the dipstick which I trust more than the printed spec).

I would be interested in any information that you find - including the file that you mentioned.

It's a 1.1 liter caterpillar/perkins. Some of the tags on the motor say CAT, some say Perkins. I think CAT owns perkins? 28 HP is the stated value.
My understanding is these engines are used in many other applications.

Unsure about a service manual, I have seen an engine parts manual online.

Old Machinist, thanks for that info. Even though the servive manual seems to be for the c11, I bet its close enough.
