I have a 2185 that lost forward completely, I have checked the linkage ( I even completely removed the linkage from the hydrostat pump and manually operated the trans with the same results. I have replaced the 2 check valves on the pump and changed the fluid annd filter. I am stating to see some of this series show up on ebay (1 has the exact problem as mine) please help.

That's an odd one. As far as I know, all the 2000 series cubs from the mid 1990's to 2004 had the same aluminum cased transaxle with the same hydrostatic drive. I have not heard of many problems associated with them. Are you using a CC filter for the trans? I have heard of some off brand, off spec filters causing issues, where replacing it with a CC transaxle filter fixed the issue.
