I would like to know if the Kohler 18hp command engine has a compression release? And also if there is any was to adjust the valves? The bolt holding the rocker arm seems to be bolted down solid so I guess it is preset at the factory, and the only way I see it, is to put a thin shim under the bolt. Is this the right way or not?

Yes, the Command has a compression release, it is part of the camshaft assembly. The Command uses hydraulic lifters in its valve train , and the valve lash is not adjustable. -Fordlords-
