just purchased a near new (51 hours) 1527 from local lowes and they are unable to get a owners manual for me---any suggestions greatly appreciated. Also---anyone have this model? any problems?? so far I love it--kawasaki power, mulching deck and hydrostatic trans and the annoying "can't mow in reverse" safety device!!

Joel---thanks for trying but your link is dead--having said that I went through the mtd pdf list yesturday and came up with nothing for this model. In fact if you look at their numbers the 15 series mowers are zero turn commercial mowers(clearly this is not), while their 13 series numbers are for riding mowers(what this is). I'm starting to think somebody pulled a fast one (re-badged, re-powered, or something). Kinda a shame cause its really a dandy little tractor.

Hello,

I bought my 1527 brand new from the local dealer. It has been a great machine. I recently had the blades sharpened and was told that the blades can only be sharpened (once?) and then must be replaced. Considering the amount of mowing time they have, this isn't too bad. BTW: I think I still have the owners' manual somewhere in my garage...
