Hi,

I am new to this forum and I would appreciate some information you can provide me regarding the reliabilty of the 5252.

I am currently planning to build my home on 5 acreas which is completely leveled and cleared. I am considering putting a deposit on a 5252 (2004) w/ a 60" mower deck, dozer blade & york rake. I am planning on using the machine during and after the construction phase of our home to do the following: light hauling, dragging branches, landscaping, light dozing (during landscaping), snow plowing, and mowing the lawn when completed.

I was wondering how reliable are these machines. I do not know anyone who owns one in my area. The dealer is willing to give me a really good deal on an '04 beacause he wants to move them out before the spring thaw. Also, how would this machine perform pulling a small brush mower??

Once again, I would greatly appreciate any thoughts, ideas, and advice.

Thanks.

I bought a 5252 last March. I got the 60" deck and FEL. I would say that it is a very strong and dependable tractor. I have moved over 40 tons of gravel, dug a 16'X32' inground pool and cut 4 acres all last season. I also have used a tiller and a rear blade. I have put over 200 hours on the tractor. No major problems. I was reading the post by Viking regarding his tranny but the unit is warranted for 2 years so any problem will probably show up befor then. Sounds like his dealer is taking care of his problem.
