I've got a 1782 diesel, I should sell it but don't have to. I have a mower to replace it. Shouldn't be an issue but I've put a lot of time and money in to it, to make it look new. Outside of the frame, the body is completely new, fenders, hood, side panels, grill, seat, seat base, tunnel cover, and all the decals. I had to put money in the motor(ouch!) and replaced many nuts and bolts. Its got 850 hrs, but now runs great. Its got a 60" deck and a front blade with weights and chains. Everything works as it should. I bought a JD 455 AWS, its got considerably more power, 320hrs and is 7yrs newer. It is not leaps and bounds better than the Cub, but its just got more in every category. I'm not in a crisis situation just looking for friendly advice. Thanks!

If you don't need to sell it. it sure would make a great backup.

Is the JD a diesel also, because I'm guessing the diesel will burn about half the fuel.

I regularly find myself using two tractors on the same job. A trailer on one and the loader on the other or using two trailers, but that's just me.

I don't think the Cub is going to depreciate either.

Good luck!
Curt

Thanks for your reply. The JD is a diesel, 22hp, and is about 240cc's bigger. The JD burns about 1/2gal per hour, I'm sure sure the Cub is similar. If it was not a diesel I wouldn't mind selling it. It's just a nice little tractor.

I've owned a bunch of Cubs and always wanted a diesel, I just never came across one that wasn't more than I was willing to pay.

Good Luck,
Curt

The 1782 and the Super garden tractors where the best the Cub offered IMHO. Big and powerful and yours having the Kubota diesel motor, it will sell very quickly (providing you dont price it was too high). It does sound like you put money into it, so Im sure you can sell it on the high side. Take a look on ebay and you migh see some for sale. They go for a premium thats for sure, and hold their value .
