Cub 1720 starter problem

I was wondering if anybody had a diagram for the brush placement on a model KT 17/M 18 starter off of a cub cadet 1720. The problem that I am having is the motor is running in the opposite direction and not allowing the gear to engage the flywheel. Thanks in advance for your help.

ohioGuy. That realy helped me out. I got the starter rebuilt and working right now if i can just get the tractor to fully start she wants to... but i think i need a charge on the battery. Thanks for your help.
