My first post on here and I must say what a great forum and members!
As the title states my 2009 CT235 would not turn over and start. I did however determine the problem and fix it thanks to this forum. I am basically writing this for the search engine and the next person who has the same problem.

Symptom: Engine will not turn over, injection pump "clanks" upon turning key.
Checked the following:
1) Battery. 3 months old, checked voltage of 12.6V. OK
2) Checked voltage at starter. 11.4V. Hmmmm. Bad ground cable?
3) Remove negative cable, cleaned, reinstall. Measure 12.6V at starter!! Still no start. Drats.
4) Jump starter at wire terminal coming from ignition switch. Starts immediately! Problem in switch or safety sensors.
5) Jump seat safety switch. No start.
6) Check motion control pedal safety switch, OK.
7) Check PTO safety switch, OK.
8) Go inside, have beer and check forum again. Ahah! Starter relay problem in far past post.
9) Exchange headlight relay for starter relay (same relays).
10) Check lights. No lights!
11) Turn key, instant start!! Have another beer.

Thanks forum members

No lights!? Still no lights? Dash lights? Rear power line? Parking brake indicator?
Did you check the contacts at the relay for corrosion?

I wasn't clear in my post.
I do not have lights now because I switched out the functioning headlight relay for the non functioning starter relay. I did clean off the starter relay pins for corrosion (very little) which didn't resolve the original no start problem. The relay is a sealed unit and it just went bad.
I have yet to replace the relay, but it is a simple common 5 pin relay that one can get at any auto parts store for less than $5.

Had a sudden no start (won't crank) issue with my CT225. Discovered travel control peddle was not touching microswitch at any position! I mechanically wedged the microswitch contact closed, and tractor started OK. Puzzled as to what to adjust - looking for a diagram or image of the mechanism so I can understand how it should work. Nothing seems loose or broken, but it will not close the microswitch.

Thanks

This page actually under the clutch section in the repair manual. No information that I can find. Don't know whether the picture can help or not.

Well, after some more looking I won't go into a long story but I am missing page 10-240-1 which has the instructions for the pedal. All I can say is old age played a part. Maybe someone else has the manual and can scan the page for you. Sorry. :ashamed:

Thank you for the lead - I missed that section entirely - not sure it will be enough but it is a start. I did find 10-240-1.

It is really puzzling to try to understand how it should work and how it shifted with no "event" - just driving between barns, shut it off for a few minutes, then no crank!

Thanks, again

Does the "contact button" of the switch move in and out? There's not a whole lot of travel of the button but maybe it's not traveling all of the way out of the switch due to debris in the switch. Tough to figure that's for sure.

The L bracket doesn't touch the microswitch button at all - I noticed the images from the post above show the L bracket at a sharp angle - mine is almost horizontal - wondering if something broke? Thanks for the reply
