CT going out of business

CT is part of Quality farm and fleet because the Quality farm and fleet in Howell, MI is going out of buisness. Here is a good one though. a freind of the family recieved a 150 gift certificate for christmas which was purchased just a week or two before the holidays. They will not accept the gift certificate back. They must be hard up trying to steal the 150 that was already paid for. No wonder a buisness like that is going broke. they took the cash but will not honor it. they have had to know that they were going belly up had no money taking cash.

Everything is 20%-40% off now, I stocked up on nuts and bolts as well as lag screws since they were reduced. They are still bringing stuff in to the Fredonia,NY store to sell from other stores that they closed down so there is always something different each time I go there. They still have some implements like rear blades and choppers but they are around 30% off now so I doubt they will last long. I do hope TSC opens back up here.

I heard the news on the radio, Tuesday, and called the Vestal, Horseheads, Utica, Oneionta, and Cortland stores, looking for a 5' Rotary Cutter and 5' box blade. All Gone! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Vestal has a box blade but it is missing shanks and all the lift arms. Parts cost from KK, with shipping was $210. Thats what it is going for with the 30% off. It's too bad. Their plan is to just keep raising the percentage off, until its all gone. I was planning to get these items, from them, this spring. Probably going to cost more, now.

PS: Was able to get some hyd oil, chain, and other misc. items. I will miss their stores.

There's a long thread on the CT/Quality store closings complete with newspaper articles which inidicate that TSC is taking over and reopening some of the CT stores after their inventory is gone. Let's hope there's one or more in Central New York.

I was in Auburn yesterday and they had two back blades and a cultivator left that I could see. They were still opening boxes and restocking some shelves, so that store may be one of the last to go. But I suspect all their 3PH attachments are pretty well gone at all their stores that are still open.

Yea, I'm hoping the Cortland or Vestal store will become a TSC. Will have to wait and see.

I was in the Hagerstown, MD store on Tuesday evening. A lot of the shelves were empty. I have not been to the Martinsburg, WV store, but I can imagine that not much is left. The liquadator was advertising 40% of yesterday. I plan on hitting the Martinsburg tomorrow to see what's left. Never can tell.

An article appeared in yesterdays Hagestown Herald-Mail stating that TSC would probably take over the two stores, but it was not for certain. If it does happen, it will occure within the next 10 weeks.

Buck, Thanks for the kind words. It was great to meet another TBNer and your wife. I'm glad Kathy likes her new treasure. We will have to get the boys together for some snow boarding when we get some of the white stuff! We can compare notes on our houses while they get "some air" on the jumps. By the way what sort of discounts were CT giving yesterday? I might stop back in the begining of the week if its up to 50%.
