For seafood on the beach or very close to the beach, we like McElroy's Harbor House at the Biloxi Yacht Harbor, Mary Mahoney in Biloxi (very close to the Beau Rivage Casino), White Caps and Blow Fly Inn in Gulfport.
All are old pre-casino restaurants. McElroy's, White Caps, and Blow Fly Inn were totally destroyed by Hurricane Camille in 1969 and by Hurricane Katrrina in 2005. They have been totally rebuilt since Katrina. Mary Mahoney was heavily damaged by both hurricanes. McElroy's also has a restaurant in Ocean Springs. This was their only location after Katrina for about five years until the new McElroy's at Biloxi Yacht Harbor was completed.
To the best of my knowledge none of these restaurants are associated with a casino.
Now about that 1960 Chevrolet Impala. Back in the 1960's when I was in the USMC stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, one of my Louisiana buddies owned a 1960 Chevrolet Impala convertible. I made a couple of round trip homes with him. He would drop me off at my home in Mississippi and continue to his home in western Louisiana and he would pick me up on his way back to Camp Lejeune. We took turns driving and drove straight through. It was about 850 miles to my house. This was pre-interstate days with mostly two lane highways.
My Louisiana buddy had bought the Impala from a fellow Marine who used the car to travel North every weekend, rain or shine, snow or ice, into that part of the Northeast where they used plenty of salt on the roads. So this was about 1965. The 1960 Chevrolet was already showing substantial body rust.
