Hi i am 16 and my family own 2 acres and my grandma own 100 and we live on it.
I was wondering if there is any way to make a few extra bucks by maybe raising animals and selling them or maybe growing crops.
We do raise a 3 rhode island red chickens and eat the eggs.
but we dont' have a tractor or anything but the farmer lives right up the road.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Sweet Corn, about 6 acres ofit planted about a week apart on every two rows will keep you busy for a few weeks and can net you several hundred or thousands.
But then again with no tractor you'd have to have a farmer work it all up for you and plant it too!

lots of variables here. Climate soil quality time available etc But I face the same kind of problem. Crops I have thought of include wasabi, watercress, and soft fruits Good luck!!!

You don't give any indication of where you are located. That can make quite a difference. There are a lot of people who make money growing various vegetables and selling at roadside stands or farmers markets. There a people who get into speciality crops selling to niche markets. I understand goats are a pretty good cash animal in this area due to the large mexican population (think cabrito). In any of this, you really need to know what kind of local demand there may be.

check out "Hobby Farms" magazine...they often do stories on things to do and make money on a small farm...some may work for you, some not

I'm going to lead you in another direction - go talk to the farmer down the road. Ususally they can use help around their farm and are more than happy to help someone like yourself in exchange for a little sweat equity (working for him).
