crome hook installed in the center of the bucket

I bought a set of crome hooks that you bolt on I installed one it the center of my BX22 bucket the bucket is renforced there because I have a center hydrolic piston to curl my bucket. Harbor Freight and tools had a set of these beautiful crome hooks with a clip so the wire won't slip off the hook. The hook is rated 10,000 lbs my tractor will only lift 460 lbs so I figure I will not break it soon. David

I haven't posted any pictures yet. The hooks costed 5 dollars for a pair they are the kind that you would see on the bottom frame of a jeep. used to pull it out when it got stuck. I dug up a fruit tree stump and I was trying to put it into my bucket I wasn't having much luck. So I mounted that crome hook in the center of my bucket and wraped a choke chain around the stump a fiew times and picked up the stump and put it in my dumpster. I have hooks on the side of my bucket I was concerned about tipping my tractor lifting from the side of the bucket. I felt more comefortable using a hook in the center of the bucket. Know that I have one extra hook when I remove my backhoe I will check and see if I can mount it behind my draw bar. for pulling stuff. David

You can use the side hooks if you center the lift and hook the chain to both side hooks.

I have the same hook (less the chrome) on my bucket. I made a backup plate with the same hole pattern to help spread the load. It would probably be fine without it. I've used the heck out of it with only one problem... the hook doesn't grab chain so you have to be careful that the chain doesn't slip. I picked up a grab ring that hooks onto my hook then has a slot to grab the chain for those occasions when I don't want any slippage.

The bolt on hook is a definite plus for those of us who are "welder challenged" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Do you have any more info on the hook. I was interested in one for my BX2200 and went to the Harbour Freight web page and could not find any bolt on hooks. If you have any pictures, that would be great.

They're tow hooks. Normaly bolted to the front of pickups for pulling them out of a bog. Do a search on that and you should find them listed.

I am picture challanged I haven't posted any pictures yet.
I have the origional box in front of me from harbor freight and tools it says" STOCK NO. 34795 16 pcs tow hook w/spring clip set [ made in Taiwan ]" They are crome plated come in a set with hardwhere and look very sturdy they are made for a rope or a cable. I think you will like them especially the price. good luck David

Yes, tow hooks. Commonly available in the auto section of Tractor Supply or just about any auto parts store as well /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
