Hmmm...that might work since they all have human sounding names. As well, each one could enter the four millionth TBN post contest. With that many chances, I'd be a cinch to be sporting that new TBN jacket around town.

Should have joined Costco instead. Sam's is heading South. I get a lot of use out of the Costco issued AMEX card (and reward $) A few years ago, I asked for a replacement MasterCard because the 3 digit ID code was rubbed off by card readers at stores I shopped at. Then I learned my credit rating got nicked because of a 'lost or replacement' credit card issue. You might want to ask somewhere how this name correction will affect you. I also wonder how accurate my Discover Card reported credit score is.....

FYI, you can now cash in your old GMCARD points for real money in $50 increments. I had a LOT of points built up and never plan to purchase a new vehicle, so they were wasting away. Show me the money....

Wish there was a Costco in this area but there is none. I have read good things about them. Weird thing is the two Sam's Clubs in this area are on the south and north sides but there are none on the east and west where the people with big bucks tend to live and there are more shopping centers.

May be a little off topic here, but does anybody recall the Meijer's SourceClubs of the early 90's? They were only around about 2 years or so.

Had this same issue one time and also my employer name was incorrectly spelled by one letter, so my credit report had 2 names for me, one being an aka, and had me working at two different companies. Didn't have an issue getting the aka thing resolved; just cancelled the credit card after explaining if they can't spell my name right, they shouldn't have financial dealings with me. The credit report still has the wrong spelling after discussing with them, but they consolidated the two into one.

Had a friend (I guess we all had at least one friend.) Had a friend that lived with parents and got a SSN. few years later he lived with grandmother
and she got another one for him. Of course happened before computers. Actually in mid 50s & early 60s when kid.
Guy used one time (that I know of) for nefarious purposes. Had a long drivers license suspension. He got another license using his name but different SSN>

Can't do it today? Won't be long the camera will look into your eyes and identify you as your walking into office.

SSN's weren't required on the tax return for dependents years ago. I don't remember precisely, but I think it was sometime in the mid-90's that dependent SSN's were added to the 1040.

I didn't get my SSN until I was about 11 years old and I had to have one to open an account at the credit union. Now they bring you the paperwork in the hospital when your kids are born.

Curious why you say Sam's is heading South? The guys and gals in Bentonville might disagree. If you're comparing Sam's to Costco in terms of popularity in your local area, I think you'll find that Costco outperforms in some sub-markets, but it is just the reverse in others. If you compare their branded credit cards, the Sam's MasterCard (issued by Synchrony Bank) beats the Costco Amex TruEarnings card hands down. We have both, and the difference in cash-back rewards is substantial. Plus, the MasterCard is more widely accepted by small retail merchants than Amex. The SC MasterCard gives 5% cash-back on gas/diesel purchases anywhere in the U.S. (other than Costco) up to $6K annually, while the CC Amex gives 3% up to $4K. Sam's Club has many, many more locations nationally that pump diesel. The Costco stations around here don't carry it at all.

The cash-back on restaurants is better as well. 3% Sam's, 3% Costco. Costco wins on travel, with 2% versus Sam's Club's 1%.

We like to shop both stores, as we find that each carries things that the other does not.
