I haven't followed all of this thread but I will tell you what we did back in my home building days. We did a rounded minaret with 3 tab shingle. We just cut all 3 tabs off and cut them into wedges and then trimmed the bottoms into the rounded arc desired. The end product looked damned good. I wasn't thrilled to have to do it, but the end product was amazing.
Whatever you decide to do will be good if it meets your standards. That has been apparent with everything you do.

I hope you guys have a wonderful day for the wedding.

Best wishes,
aginn

You should read the thread as Eddie has almost completed one of the most unique builds I have seen. Lots of really great ideas to steal here. Lots of great ideas from members as well. Best of all, NO FIGHTING! :-D

Thanks everyone. I've been welding and welding some more on those railings!!! I plan to install the last one this weekend, then remove all the supports and get the soffits and ceiling done.

Saturday, Karen's son Chad helped me lay the flagstone for the floor. I bought ten thousand pounds of flagstone called Oklahoma Silver Mist. I didn't want brown or tan, there is enough of that already.

Sunday we worked on the zip line and some fine tuning of the flagstones. Then yesterday after work, Karen and I did the grout. Instead of standard mortar, I went with readi mix concrete and washed it off to the point where you can see the rocks.

We are very pleased with how it looks!!! :)

Wow... The railings and floor look great! As does everything else, for that matter.

It just keeps getting better and better! Love the flagstone. I am down right jealous. What an ideallic setting for a wedding! How are the shingles come out? Did I miss the pics?

With all the welding, grinding and painting, I haven't done anything with the shingles yet. I'm going to focus on that next week and have them done by the following weekend one way or another. The wedding is August 9th. I need to be done with it the weekend before so Karen can get the landscaping done.
