Our 710c after 6 yrs of ownership finally needs major work! Yay to that but Booo, We need input.

Injection pump finally bit the big wrench in the sky. Finding a reman that was ready to go was a saga in itself but it's on its way.

Soooo, here in lies the big question.

ol pump removal

Specs are:
91 710c
6359t engine

To pull the pump all manuals say the pump shaft is tapered and to use a puller on the gear to remove.

There's no holes in the gear?!?! Is it not tapered?? I don't know yet as new pump not arriving til tomorrow and we are trying to get a head start.

Any input for the John Deere Yellow guru's!

Thanks in advance,
Kristy

It's apart. More later.

so, long story but short version is the pump drive rod does NOT need to come out.

Of course, we didnt find this out until after hubby n I fought with the crankpot for a few hours and new reman pump showed.

Boy did we feel stupid.

Reman pump in and she runs. has a few leaky lines here n there but it was 8.30 and flash light was dying. Tomorrow is another day.
