Crank case gasket

I noticed on my 5035 that the crank case seal is actually liquid gasket (blue colour), is this how they do gaskets now as opposed to the cork/paper gaskets?

I think they use all types depending on use. I would not be affraid of the liquid gasket, properly done it should be good to go.

on today's cars and trucks, it's unusual to see a cork or paper gasket any more. The cork and paper fill larger 'flaws' than the liquid type. Today's' machining and stamping is so precise that gaskets of any kind are nearly obsolete. Today's parts mate together so perfectly that most of the liquid uses are there 'just in case'.
