don't ask me how I know!

That's why you have a fake e-mail address. You can also use that for buying and selling on CL too, that way nobody ever gets your true e-mail.

I have a friend who responded to one of these Craigslist scam ads, this was a little different tho - the seller claimed he was in the Army and being deployed to Afganistan - hence the urgency and third party money transaction etc - he lost almost $3K on the deal and he is not a young fool either - I guess he's an older, experienced fool!

A year later he almost did it again on a different sob story. He's an easy mark, that's why these things are still so prevalent - they work!

Moral of the story, if you can't see it, feel it, touch it, or smell it ahead of time - it's not real!

Not a Tractor Scam, but in this area we have a SICKO who has decided that no one should be allowed to post ads in the Farm+Garden category. He/she has flagged and caused the removal of every ad.
You have to wonder why people do things like this? At least the scammers are trying to make a buck, albeit illegal. They, at least, have a motive.

I wonder if he got burned on one of the scams??? Got pissed off and this is how he deals with it??? Or just a 9th grader that figured out how to write a program to flag an ad to death (with one key stroke)... (Wish I had that program )

If you go to the help section at Craig's list, and the "contact us" section, I would let them know it's going on...
