JD 3320
Hi all, I recently purchased a used Gannon box blade locally on craigslist. The guy that owned it had a JD 2210, which is smaller than my 2320. I assumed (wrongly) that it would fit my 3 point with no problems. Well I tried to attach it today and the way the box glade is designed it will not attach to the lower two arms on my 3 point. The top attachment works fine.

The issue is that the little eye/bearing pieces that move around within the hole that the pin goes through stick out too much and do not allow the pins to go through. You can see in the pictures what I am talking about.

So to all the experts out there, what would you do in this case? I spent $350 on the blade so it's quite a bit of money already spent. The most logical thing to do is to have a welder come out to my house and remove and reinstall the hooks? I tried bending them out just a bit with my sledge hammer but then it changes the angle too much and the pins won't go in.

Please help!

I feel your pain. Having bought stuff, and found it didn't fit:(
Perhaps you could fabricate some sort of adapter, but it might be more expensive than having a welder remount it. Hey,its a great excuse to buy a welder now!

If it was me I'd cut one of the tabs off each side and then weld it back on at the correct width. Might be less expensive if you took the box to the welder. If you were wanting a quick hitch anyway it might adapt as is. It might also work to put a bolt on pin in one tab each side but the tabs might bend in use.
HTH

Yeah, I think I can get it there, but I'd probably have to wait since there'd be no way to take it out and then put it back in unless there were at least 4 guys there to lift it.

It will work as is if hooked up offset. Hook your arms up on the outside of the tabs -- do not try to go between them. It should work fine. If you had a 50hp tractor I would not do it but on the 2320 it will be fine. I run a KingKutter 7' yard rake on my Kubota BX that way and it works great.

I was thinking what roamerr said. Stabilizer pin is pointed to the outside and the 3pt arm goes over it, if your arms swing out wide enough.

Hmmm okay, so I buy those pins and run them through and then the two lower arms attach to the outside of the tabs? Anybody have a picture of that?

Thanks a lot for all the help fellas! :D
