Hello, I just got a craftsman LTX1000 to fix. Its a 1998, 20hp Intek, model # 917.272432

Runs great. Problem is You have to Press the brake to start which is normal. When you let off the brake the mower does not shut off. It lugs down a bit, while its sitting there lugging if you push on the seat to activate safety switch it runs right again.

Also when you turn the mower off it lugs down and takes about 10 seconds to shut off.

Wiring doesn't look tampered with. I wanna fix it so all safety switches work properly. Maybe a bad ground? Any advice on where to start. I have already tried the ignition out of another LTX1000 I have at the house right now. It was not the problem.

Thanks in advance, Jeff

A little investigating this evening, found a broken wire at the spade connector on the right coil. 15 minutes and a new connector later, All safety work and shuts off as it should. I'm glad I got an easy fix for once.
