It's not tools but, I was buying the NAPA gold brake pads for all my vehicles . When I 1 st. starting buying them they were life time replacment . Just bring in the worn out pads & they would give me a new set. That life time replacment must have cost alot because, last year when I turned in my worn out pads , they gave me a letter stating that this was my last free pr. of brake pads

& they no longer have a life time replacment pad.I no longer buy anything from NAPA

I had a Craftman shovel with a wood handle. Well, I broke it while digging in our brick hard red clay. They replaced it with a D-handle shovel with a fiberglass handle. Now, I didn't break the handle, which is typical. I broke the actual metal blade of the shovel. It literally split at the shank, and down toward the tip. It took a little while, but they did not give me any argument about it, but that was about 3 years ago.

Then why would you buy Craftsman hand tools anyway...didn't you see on tv how they made the bowling balls fly out of the machine....

I do go through a serious number of 1/4" & 5/16" nut drivers and I always bring them back to Sears with no problem. In fact they don't even want to know how you wear them out. ( I think we may be seeing the results from the buy out by K-mart happening)

Just a thought.
