I rebuilt the hydrostatic transmission. I found it needed a new thrust bearing on the motor. I put it back together and now it runs in reverse when i press the gas pedal forward. It goes forward when i press the pedal reverse. It looked right when i closed it up so i dont understand why it is doing that???
Is there anyone that can help?
Thanks,

This won't help solve your problem, but when I was a kid, my dad had a '39 Plymouth. For some reason, he had the pumpkin out of the rear end and when he reinstalled it, he put it in 180* out. The bolt pattern was symmetrical. He got in to drive it and had 3 speeds in reverse, 1 forward!

I have seen some bizarre things happen if a sprag got installed backwards in an automatic transmission. May have to trace the power flow through the transmission to find the issue. Also is it possible a bellcrank is installed backwards. Saw that when a Hurst shifter was installed on a 4 speed. Either way start simple.
