Craftsman DTL2000-Blowing Fuse

This tractor ran great yesterday untill I was putting it up, then it quit. It was the 25amp fuse. I changed it today and went through a box of fuses. Sometimes it would let me go a couple of times around the yard, others it would blow when I started to go forward. It is a 20 hp Kholer and hydrostat. Any ideas on what the problem may be? I know it is something electrical, but what ro where to start?

I know it is something electrical, but what ro where to start?

The issue could be in two places. There is a relay. But there is also the electric clutch, if you have one, as opposed to the lever engage type. The electric clutch operates off a button on the dash and engages the engine to the cutting deck. Un plug the electric clutch and see if you have an operational tractor, although you will not be able to engage deck, of course.

Those clutches are $200 or more, btw.

Sounds like you have a wire being pinched in the harness some where. It doesn't take much of a nick in the wire to short out and melt the fuse.
