This is my second post in this section in the past week, if I can't do this please let me know .

I am currently in the process of re-digging one of my dried up ponds. When I get a bucketful of dirt and go to dump it, the bucket stops about 2/4 of the way down. I let go of the stick and try it again and hear a click (sometimes have to do this twice) and then it slowly starts to dump the rest of the way. It doesn't always do this. Mainly when I am dumping heavy loads.

Problem 2. My positive traction pedal sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. When I get stuck going up a hill one wheel starts spinning so I push the pedal. Sometimes it locks into place and sometimes it just grinds. Is there an adjustment I can make to fix this? I have had to dump a few loads in bad places just to get myself out of situations.

What model tractor/loader?

I am wondering (3) things...#1 ...are you trying to load to much in your bucket...too heavy a load ? and #2 - have you checked the level of your hydraulic fluid...? #3 - are you applying enough power ..? are you giving enough RPMs for the job..?

#1. As far as I know, the load is within its limits. #2. Yes, it is full. Haven't changed it since I got it though, might need to do that. #3. I keep my RPMS in the 1900-2500 range when dumping or loading

For first comment, no problem posting a new thread as often as you like. It is nice not to start another new thread when one is already started.

You may be ok with the load in the bucket, but not have sufficient ballast on the rear to have good traction.

Question #1 -- sounds like the regenerative circuit operating correctly on the dump. It is set up to dump quickly, but if the joy stick isn't kept far to the right, then it upsets the cycle and acts strange.

Question #2 -- the positraction (differential lock) should not be engaged when one wheel is spinning. It will/may take out the locking fingers and then not function at all. Engage the positraction while the wheels are stopped.

It may even spell that out in the manual ;)

As it is here, along with pic of the pins on the differential lock that could get sheared when mechanically linked (or attempted) as it is like trying to get into gear without using the clutch (they grind).

On 1-

On 2- Manual? What manual :confused2:. Haha anyways, I never knew that (old habit with other tractors). I will take it apart later when it cools down to see what damage I've done.

On manuals, first URL is to order manuals. If you live close to a JD dealer you can get it through them save you the shipping.
Second URL is the online version manual for your loader.
Third URL SelectManuals has tech manuals $30.00 download version
Fourth URL JD parts

On loader, try disconnecting and reconnecting the hydraulic hoses (quick attach) and check that they are clean. Do this with the tractor off and no pressure on the lines.
