Be very careful out there when ordering Kioti filters online. There are counterfeit, cloned filters out there. You may think your ordering a genuine Kioti oem filter but receive a substitute. It happened to me!

Hate to say it but in all probability the Kioti brand filter is made by somebody else and simply branded Kioti.

The most probable would be FRAM or PUROLATOR however I'm sure that there exist Korean and Japanese firms that private label filters as well.
NAPA also supplies filters under their name but suspect they are Fram or Purolator made.

This is almost certainly true. But whatever the origin, Kioti will stand behind the filters with their name on them. With another branded filter you have reason to trust it if the manufacturer claims it is a suitable replacement for OEM. But with a plain, no-name filter, how can you know it is really suitable or effective? Filters (air, fuel, and oil) are especially critical to Diesel engines (more than gas) and HST transmissions (more than gear); not the best place to save a buck.

Here is a list of filter makers I found on line. I'm sure there may be a few others but the majority of filters made in the USA are made by these companies. Some of these companies also have plants outside the USA. I haven't had much luck finding out who (besides the manufacturer) makes tractor filters.

The cloned filter I got was said to be part # T4125-38021. $99.54
It was painted red. The remarkable thing about this filter was it had no markings on it, no lettering, no brand, nothing. Just a red filter.
I paid 100 bucks for a red filter. I wasn't about to put that on a new $23,000 tractor.

Good Lord 'a mighty - I can buy ALL the oil, hyd, air filters for one complete change over on my Kubota, from the Kubota dealer for less than $100. What seems to make the Kioti filters so very expensive. They can't be that much different than what I use.

I found this cross reference chart just now.....bet your filter is a Baldwin, and if so, not a cheap knockoff, but a quality filter. All Baldwins are bright red, but I never had one without a part number. Check this chart....your Kioti filter number, is exactly the same as Hitachi's....and is probably made by them. Also notice that Donaldson, Caterpillar, Fleetguard, and Baldwin, offer an equivalent filter to the one you want.

I was told by the owner of "TractorJoe", which is where I bought the filter in question that it is a Baldwin. No way to verify without any markings.

You plain got ripped off. Did you buy that from a dealer? If so I would be returning for a refund and have a talk with the owner or manager.

Haha. Ya right. Last time I checked a bucket of Kubota hydraulic oil was over $100.00. You are right though $100.00 is way to high for a hydraulic filter.
