Yup that's our experience too...but what about the farm tractors that harvest and move those crops. They must be a work around.
The work around is checking the condition. My old tractor has a grill about a foot in front of the radiator with small round holes in it. The newer one has grill areas ( small hole screen ) in front of the battery which is in front of the radiator.
They both do a decent job but the air gun is still needed on a daily basis
when working with seeded top crops. The radiator fans blow the seeds everywhere on the tractor, including the open cabin areas. It is just part of the environment when working along with itchy swollen eyes, bee stings, bug bites, sweat, and leg cramps.
