Kobota L3400DT
Hello good people,
I have a L3400 Kobota that will not start. It will "klick" on the right side of the engine and the electrical system drops power. I have replaced fuses (all tested okay) and the components under the dash because they would buzz when key was turned on. The head lights are very dim when turned on if they light up at all. The battery is fully charged. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Check the main ground wire from the Neg side of the battery to the frame...

And that might mean removing the cable and scraping or sanding/filing it, the nut/bolt and frame to clear any corrosion before tightening it again. A connection can look good even if it isn't.

Like /pine mentioned, it sounds like a corroded or loose connection.

Assuming the battery is good.....fully charged does not mean good battery.

Measure voltage on the battery posts directly on top of the posts while assistant attempts to crank the engine. If the voltage drops below 10 volts than the battery itself is likely defective. If the voltage stays near 12 then move out with the voltmeter leads to the starter bolt to see if there is any drop across the positive battery cable. Starter cables can look perfect on the outside and be totally corroded on the inside of the cable under the jacket. So you must determine if it is a battery problem or a cable and its associated connections problem.

I have an L3410 HST. Simple things first - pull battery cables, clean and reattach tightly. Even if they seem secure. I had a no-start situation and assumed some major problem but that was all that it was - cleaned and reattached and it started right up. Could also be a bad battery - since you are getting weak power - I also had that situation - it would not hold enough of a charge to start. If that is not it - maybe it is the neutral switch. That also happened to me once when it would not start. It was difficult to access (under the forward-reverse pedal on my HST) but when I did I found a wire had worked loose. Repaired that and it started right up. Good luck.

Battery or connections are U/S.
