Do you folks keep track of the cost each year on your tractors.

I was going thur my cost since 1995 I spent $266.45,and
that doesn't include fuel nor attachment./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Not only do I keep records of everything, I also track the cost of all major purchases and home projects (guess I can be classified as 'something' retentive). Over the years, have built many spreadsheets to track investments, house, cars and tractors. Record all maintenance items, accessories, repairs, etc (only fuel not tracked). All entries are recorded by date, hour meter reading and cost. In turn, it calculates what the current historical cost is, and what the monthly cost has been to date. For my cars (haven't had time to add this to the tractor workbook), it also projects on what date the next maintenance operation will have to be performed (using mileage as opposed to hours). It simply takes the current mileage, calculates the historic monthly average, and projects ahead. After I buy a new vehicle and it gets a couple months of good data, it's downright scary how accurate it is. Once it warned me for two years in advance when I was to replace a belt on my car. The projected date came and went. Sure enough, my belt broke while driving home from work 2 weeks later. So, I never ignore it now.

Yep one kinda has to run there home like a bussiness in today world to make ends meet.
