I have a B7500 with R4 tires. We just moved to a new home with a lot less land /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. In my process to try to justify keeping the tractor I am considering changing to turf tires. Does anyone have an idea of the cost of turfs?

NOTE: I mistakenly posted this thread in the NH area so for those of you who monitor the NH forum please disregard it.

Thanks,

Just curious but why would you want to change to turfs?

That would be my question also. I have R4's and I do finish mowing with them all the time. I do have some trouble on my wet lawn, but it is only a year old so the root growth just isn't there yet. My neighbor has a tractor the same size as mine and with his turf's he will leave the same dents as my R4's on my lawn. Both tires on his lawn leave no marks. I really think the weight of the tractor is more the determining factor for damage. Also on sharp turns R4's will do less damage than turf's.

BillyP, I was mostly curious because I am trying to look into my options. I had 2ac of lawn and 2 100ft drive ways but at our new place I only have 3/4ac and a very small drive. So I've been thinking what if I change the tires would that cause less damage to my lawn since the lawn is smaller and I have a bunch of trees to mow around. I've also been lookng into trading it in at my local dealer. I have an email into the dealer and if they take trades I may consider that option. I would get much more practical use from a BX2200 because of it's smaller size.

To be totally honest I know that the B7500 is way too big for my new place but I really love the tractor. I've only had it about 14 months so it's practicly new. I'm trying to sell it out right but there isn't much of a market around here for that size tractor. So I may be best off if I can trade down to the BX.
