Cost of steel

I called Triple S to check on pricing on the outside surplus steel and they told me 40 cents a pound for the plain steel and 50 cents lb for galvanized. So thats a little over half price on the plain steel compared to new grade at about 78 cents lb. Im going to go out there and see what they have outside. I have a trailer project coming up and would be more than happy to save half.

Even your new price is decent. Here I'm paying $.95 to $1.25/# new (plain)depending on configuration what it is (flat, tube, etc). When I can score at the re-cycler at 35 cents a pound I'm thrilled.
