Kioti CK30 HST
I just had my dealer do the 50 hr service on my CK30 HST. I had him weld three chain hooks on my bucket and drill the bucket for a trailer ball - which he only charged me materials for. The total came to $240.00.

He tells me the 100 hr service will be $400.00. I had not anticipated these large expenses so quickly after forking out the money for the tractor and implements.

Anyone have experience on what the cost is to do it yourself? Also the effort involved?

I will try later to get a photo of the hooks he welded on my FEL. I really like them.

Thanks!

Dale

It was my impression the 50 hr one is the "big" one for cost because the requirement of changing every fluid & filter. I did my own on my Ck30, if I recall I had about $200 into just materials (fluids & filters). As far as difficulty in accomplishing the 50 hr service, I'd say no more difficult than servicing your Pickup truck, just MORE fluids to deal with. Everything is laid out pretty well on the Kioti and it is covered adequately in the manual.

Hi Dale---I'm no mechanic but I did my 50 and 100 hr maintenance. I would think the 100 hr would be cheaper because the hydraulic oil doesn't have to be replaced until 400 hrs after the inital 50 hr change. The fuel filter element is supposed to be cleaned at 100 hrs along with the engine oil change and oil filter replaced. There are some things to be adjusted if there are problems like the fan belt, clutch, and brakes. If you do it yourself it will help you learn more about your engine and where the different parts are and I think that's a good thing.
I would make sure he changed the hydraulic oil and filter at 50 hrs, maybe he is planning on doing that at 100 hrs and could explain the higher cost.

Agree with the previous posters. The 50 hour is the big one and is very important because the hydraulic pumps are doing their wearing in and you would be amazed at how metal is put into the hydraulic oil those first 50 hours. If I were you I'd be a little concerned that dealer hasn't reversed them. Ask if he replaced both (if HST) hydraulic filters and the hydraulic fluid at the 50 hr maintenance. It might explain why the 50 hour was so inexpensive with the welding you had him do.

All the filters on the tractor add up too 100$. Engine oil, 1.5 gallons, say 15$. Hydraulic oil, like 7 gallons, is somewhat variable but as I recall you'll be spending at least 75$ for it.

That's it. 200$ will just cover materials if he did it right. Labor is not free so I am guessing he didn't change the hydraulic/tranny oil as he should have.

50 hr service for a tractor loader and backhoe runs all of $400-$500 plus pickup and delivery at my store.
Keep in mind we just don't change fluids.
We change fluids and filters
Adjust clutch and brakes
Check fan belt tension
Clean battery terminals
Grease the whole machine
Check toe
Pressure test hydraulics
Go over all the mounting bolts
Clean raidator
Check and top off all fluids
Clean pre screen
Check all lights
Check engine low and high rpm's
Wheel lugs
Air pressure
Test drive
Clean machine
We are also while doing all of the above doing a visiual inspection.
We have around 4 hours of labor invested.
So I think the charges are normal.

If anyone (dealer) charges you a price for services that you think may be a little high, just ask them for a work order on your machine not just a bill.
We provide work orders to all of our customers with the cost of everything broke down.
We also guarentee all of what we do, my mechanics know when they do a job and sighn off on it, if it was not done properly they will go to the customers house on their own time and make it right.
So it not just change fluids.

To Rick's point, I just had the 50 hour service performed on my CK20 HST and the total bill was $423. That amount included $165 for three filters, all of the fluids plus 3.5 hours of labor.

Also, the dealer I took it to is new dealer as of a few weeks or months ago so he called a dealer in PA to ask what they charged for the 50 hour service and he was told between $425 and $450.

I suspect that he may have called Wallace Tractor given Rick and Amy's prominence among Kioti Dealers.

PS I know I'm going to be ridiculed by the do-it-yourselfer's for paying for service but I wanted to make sure it was done right. Plus, my original dealer dropped the Kioti line and I wanted to form a relationship with a new dealer. So far so good!

No ridicule from me, you have to do what you feel comfortable with. I bought my tractor from Wallace and it's a 360 mile round trip to his place so that's the main reason I did it myself. The local dealer offers a free 50 hour service but it's really not free, if you know what I mean.

So, I paid well into the 500's for my 50hr. service. So maybe I am a fool for doing so but I have my reasons for taking the DK to the dealer for the service in the first place. So for the 100hr. service I decided that I should probably do it myself but felt that I didn't have time to do it AND I felt I could support my local dealer by having them do it. I called ahead to check the price and was told aprox. $200. I though, wow! Ok, so maybe that is low but I thought I remembered hearing that numbered thrown around before so it works for me. At any rate, the shop called today to give me my "real" quote . . . $409.55.

Ok, so it's double of what I was quoted originally but if that is in the ball park, fine I have no problem. But if that is high then I can rethink my philosophy of supporting my local dealer from here on out. So what are your thoughts on that price for the 100hr. service for a DK45SE and KL401 loader.
