I was watching Letterman last night and saw this bizarre apology by Michael Richards. Seems he went crazy at a couple of "hecklers" at a comedy club screaming racial comments at them. He seemed a bit out of it during his "apology". They say there is no bad publicity, in this instance I don't know.

His career may be toast. Time will tell.

I saw something on the news about it, but don't know if it was taken out of context, or they slurs were intended to be angry comments as a result of the heckling that he received. At a comedy club, you never know, because some times they go way overboard in the humor and try to offend everyone equally. This is why it is so strange as to what actually happened.

Was it already toast? Has he had much of a career since the Seinfeld show ended?

You are correct, that is why he is back to doing comedy club gigs.

I watched him in a comedy special right after sienfeld ended and was shocked at how bad he was. His entire routine revolved around him stubling and falling down. He was good on the tv show, but as a comic, he's terrible.

If he hadn't gone overboard on the hecklers, would anybody know who he is or care?

The interesting thing is that apparently he is a liberal minded fellow, very anti-Bush. I've got no problem with that, but Rush says he will get off scot free, unlike Mel Gibson....mostly because Mel is somewhat anti-Hollywood establishment. Already the Hollywood folks are spinning how sincere and meanigful his apology was. Mel says he didn't mean what he said, but the libs say that what comes out when you are mad or drunk is what is really in your heart. I guess Kramer gets a free pass on that theory.

Hollywood, DC, media and politics. The less I know about them the happier I am.

I'm no Hollywood agent or anything but he should be making a pretty good lick on the reruns. I too have seen his stand up and it's pretty lame. He also had a very short lived series after Seinfeld and it was horrible. It's going to be tough on all the old Seinfeld alumni to trump the show that made them. Everything they've done after seems pretty bad since it's being compared to Seinfeld. That was a funny show! IMHO:)

He made MILLIONS from Seinfeld. I doubt it much matters how successful he is from here on out.
