I watched one of his news conferences yesterday, not sure what day it posted. Very well conducted. Very well spoken. Used his family as examples to personalize it all. I thought he handled himself exceptionally well.

Yep, He held two conferences yesterday. I watched both. Impressive.

I don't understand the big deal about getting tested. It sounds like people want to be tested with no symptoms. They could get a test and get infected the next day. Are they going to get tested every day.

The "big deal" is to find/quarantine infected people so they don't spread it to others who will spread it to others who will spread it to others etc.

That's the weird thing -many symptomatic people want and should be tested.
Then the 80% that have little or no symptoms, don't get tested and once the virus clears from their system, my understanding (which could be wrong) is a test would show negative since it is an Antigen test.

I guess to see the total # of actual infections that take place they would also need and anti- body/antigen combo test which from what I read isn't available yet. :confused3:

ps. as rekees4300 said you don't want people spreading a disease that Can and Has overwhelmed hospitals and health care systems -when testing/ isolation can help prevent it.

I have no knowledge of any of that. I've actually only heard him speak once and that was yesterday. In the chaotic world of news hype regarding this pandemic I thought he handled himself admirably.

Yes he did. BUT I have heard him speak many times in the past, and I don't like him. Which surprised the heck out of myself that he acquitted himself so well yesterday on both of his news conferences about Covid-19. But in general I tend to agree with LouNY about Mr. C.

That is why he's Governor and why I'm glad I only live close and not in New York State. He's a smooth talker and he's anti 2 A as well. I think he's an arse as well but I'm not under his political thumb and I don't want to be either.

(Have to be careful making comments like that ir someone will report me and I'll get spanked (again) for making a plitical comment.

Seems as though there are an abundance of snitches on this forum, typical though. I remember what we did to snitches in high school too... Too bad that cannot be applied to the Iniernet.

Being out here in the sticks, I’ve never heard of him. Jerk or not, with the aid of our Vice President and President, he got rid of the age old bureaucratic red tape concerning the CDC wanting to control test results.

5030 claimed he was going to "ignore" me a couple weeks ago. Obviously he did not.

I've never used it and don't understand the purpose. Kinda like taking your ball and going home from the playground....

Get off that horse. It's getting old. Kind of like taking your ball and shoving it up your................

I think we should have to type our posts, hit a button and they disappear, then type them again in duplicate, hit a button and they post. That would eliminate most inflaming posts. Especially the rambling ones that drift completely off subject.

Adding smiley faces does not disguise the intent of words.

You’ve been nothing but detractor to most threads I’ve followed. Do you have anything positive to add besides snarky remarks?

I agree, he did good. And it was good to see federal and state working together to help the people.

I know some states are worse off but weve gone from one case to 13 in about a week. Not exactly an epidemic here.

On the TP issue, we went on our weekly grocery run this morning and Kroger was totally out of TP and I overheard other shoppers saying Walmart was also. Didnt need any just seeing how it was progressing.
The wife wanted a spray bottle to mist her plants at work so we stopped at the Dollar store to get that and I checked their TP supply. They had all ya wanted.

Go figure.

yes it is good to see them set aside politics and do the right thing.

Ditto and especially good to see the Private Sector/Federal alliance. Kudos to Walmart, CVS and all the others who stepped up to the plate for We The People

It's nice that the title in the article exaggerates the amount by 1000%.

It says Billion with a B in the title, but it's only Million with an M in the article.

The world needs more proof readers.
100000% ;)

Being of a household of just me and my wife, there is no way I壇 pack away a years worth of TP. There are family痴 with kids out there that need the stuff.

Diggin is correct. This panic mode has to stop. The awareness needs to be upgraded but wholesale panic is unwarranted.

If looking for advice on how to manage an event such as this virus, you tube governor Cuomo of New Yorks press conferences.
This guy has been on top of it rationally and communicates effectively a plan that痴 not built on media hype. He answered a lot of questions from facts and pretty much shot down the sky is falling hype the media is projecting.

Yes. I think Cuomo is doing well on this.

Watching him does tend to make my face hurt tho. :confused3:

I think we as a Society struggle with hired leaders in all sectors. We base our approval/disapproval on whether they say or do something that we like or dislike. That should be at the bottom of the criteria list.

I want my leaders to lead first. I want them to never think about whether I'll like or dislike what they are doing.

That's very hard to find in our leaders today. I'm not talking about Politicians. I'm talking about Leaders. Might be your Boss at work.

An old Infantry saying comes to mind "Lead, Follow or Get The He** Out of The Way!!"
